Greek actress Christina Sotiriou extends her felicitations to Iranians over Nowruz

Greek actress Christina Sotiriou (Χριστίνα Σωτηρίου), who is playing one of the major roles in Iranian TV series ‘Salman the Persian’, has extended her felicitations to Iranians over the Persian New Year, Nowruz.

Sotiriou appeared in a video congratulating Iranians on the occasion in both Persian and Greek languages, quoting lines of poem by Iranian poet Fereydoon Moshiri.

It was published by Fars News Agency, which received a copy of the video which is set to be released in an online event organized by Iran’s cultural attache to celebrate the festive occasion on Sunday.

The Persian New Year, Nowruz, falls on March 21 this year.

Since her participation in ‘Salman the Persian’, Sotiriou has become so interested in Persian and is currently studying Persian in Greece.

Iranian filmmaker Davoud Mir-Baqeri began filming ‘Salman the Persian’ last year. The production of the series is expected to take five years.
